Setting up Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your phone
Purpose: To improve the Cyber security at Scotch College and better protect staff accounts, the College uses Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when working externally.
Note: Please follow either Set-up A) or Set-up B) as per your preference.
Set up A)
Outlook Email and Authenticator on your Phone only:
1) Head to your phone's App Store / Self Service / Google Play Store, search for Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Authenticator, and install the Apps.
2) Open the Outlook App and follow the steps as shown in Screenshots
3) Remember, here you can only use a Scotch email address

4) Authenticator App Alert (if installed) will pop up, click Open Authenticator
5) Select - Work or school account
6) Enter your Scotch password, your email address will be shown above (as per image below)
7) If you receive the following error, please try Set up B or contact the Tech Centre Staff (08 ) 93836866
Set up B)
Setup or update MFA on your Phone through a web browser on your Laptop:
1) Visit the following website and sign in with your email (First.Lastname@scotch.wa.edu.au) and password (image below).

Once logged in, follow the steps as outlined with red arrows in the images below. If you are logged in correctly, you will see your initials in the right hand corner.
Click VIEW ACCOUNT,
Click SECURITY INFO
Choose Authenticator App and set up as images below
Open the Authenticator app on your mobile phone and follow the steps as show in the screenshots.
Scan the QR code on your laptop and it will show you an OTP code type the same code in the app and click Yes.
Note: In addition to Authenticator you can also set up your Phone number as a secondary method which will be handy if you change your phone or don't have access to the Authenticator app.
Follow the steps shown in section B until you see Autentication method and choose Phone this time.
