Year 10 Students who commence Year 11 (October 2025) - UPGRADE LAPTOP

Prepare for Laptop Upgrade
Dear Parents and Students,
We are excited to inform you that students will soon receive a new MacBook Air M4 for use in Year 11 and Year 12. The laptop will come with an STM protective case and AppleCare+.
Laptop Upgrade appointments will begin the week before the Spring term starts, and the booking page is now open for your child to select their preferred time. Please use the booking link provided below:

Available dates are as follows:
- Tuesday 7th October
- Wednesday, 8th October
- Friday, 10th October
- Monday, 13th October
- Tuesday, 14th October
- Wednesday, 15th October
- Friday, 17th October (after March Out for Boarders)
For Boarders:
We have appointments available on Wednesday, 15th October, which we hope you can attend. If this date is unsuitable, please book for Friday, 17th October (after March Out).
How to Prepare for the Appointment:
Note that the Help Desk is open during the holidays, excluding public holidays.
1. Ensure all files are saved to OneDrive. For guidance, please refer to the Guided Solution here: One Drive. Assistance is also available at the Help Desk in the SS Library.
2. Save your bookmarks by following the instructions here: Export Bookmarks
3. Bring the laptop and power adapter to the appointment (non-returns will incur a charge of $98.00).
3. Clean the laptop and remove all stickers, except for the Scotch College asset sticker on the bottom case.
4. The new laptops will come with an STM Clam Shell case, which is warrantable. Please ensure you visit the Tech Centre if the case breaks; please do not throw away the broken case as we will need it for warranty.
Please note that appointments will be held in the Lower Library (Tech Centre area).
Apple Care+ Service Conditions:
The laptops will be inspected by our Apple-authorized technician and repaired if necessary. Damaged laptops will incur a charge but will be processed under Apple Care+, which reduces the cost. Charges will be applied to your account. Please refer to the attached ILT Device Fact Sheet for more information on Acceptable Wear & Tear conditions.
