OneDrive: Syncing and freeing up space
Follow these steps to ensure your files are syncing and the OneDrive app is working.
STEP 1. Check OneDrive icon is visible in the status menu bar (top right)
- If it has disappeared, Search OneDrive using the spotlight to reopen the app (you may have to sign back in)
STEP 2. Check that files are syncing
Right-click the OneDrive icon in the menu bar to check if all files have synced.
- If there is a syncing issue, rename the files or folders accordingly.
- Remember, avoid using invalid characters: “ * : < > ? / \ |. and spaces before and after file names.
STEP 3. OPEN FINDER
Right click on the OneDrive PLCScotch library and select "Free Up Space."
- This will ensure all files in your OneDrive are uploaded to the cloud and not locally stored on your device.
