The Taigh - OneDrive
OneDrive provides storage for many types of files, including Word, Excel, PDFs, photographs, video files, etc.
- You will have access to 1TB of personal cloud storage to store and backup files
- Access OneDrive from any internet-connected device using your Scotch username and password.
- User can also collaborate and share files with others using OneDrive
FILE AND FOLDER MANAGEMENT
Your OneDrive has already been set up with a folder called "TAIGH" for you to save any work you might be doing in applications other than your class notebook.
- E.g., a word/pages document, powerpoint/keynote presentation, video file etc)
Please note that there are some invalid characters that are not compatible with OneDrive.
- These include: “ * : < > ? / \ |. and spaces before or after file names are not allowed. Files with these characters in the name will not sync.
ACCESSING ONEDRIVE FILES
The files stored in OneDrive can be accessed directly on your iPad via the OneDrive app located on the dock.
Step 1: Open Open Drive App
Step 2: Click on the files tab at the bottom of the screen
Step 3: You should see the folders “Taigh” and “Pictures”.
- The 'Pictures' folder is syncing photos from your 'Photo' app camera roll.
- Save files to your Taigh folder
SAVING FILES TO ONEDRIVE
Step 1: Open the Word App
Step 2: Click the [+] button to start a new blank document
Step 3: Click the ellipse […] button > click ‘Save’
Step 4: Select the OneDrive–PLCScotch > select Taigh folder
Step 5: Name your file appropriately (don't use special characters e.g., @&%#/|~ etc)
Step 6: Click Save
Please note that when you begin school in the new year, you will receive a new device. If everything is saved to your OneDrive folder, these files will be available on your new device when you sign back into the OneDrive App.
